Here are four simple things you can do to be kind to animals, even if you do not have one that lives with you.

Buy Humanely Raised Foods

Show your support to farms and the earth by choosing humanely raised animal products, instead of meat and dairy from industrial farms. It is more respectful to the animals. The meat tastes better and has elevated nutritional qualities. It is better for the environment. Plus, you are supporting local farmers and producers.

Adopt from a Shelter or Reputable Breeder

When you are getting ready to get a pet for yourself, support abandoned animals by adopting a pet from the shelter. If you must get a purebred puppy, choose a local breeder who raises dogs for show or training. You are saving two lives when you adopt from a shelter, the dog you adopt, and the next dog that needs space. Adult dogs have gone through the puppy stage, so they are vaccinated, potty trained and a little calmer.

Watch Movies That Support Animal Welfare

Bet you did not realize that there are over 100,000 animal actors that entertain in film and television. Choose shows that contain the "No Animals Were Harmed®” end credits to promote standards of humane animal treatment in the entertainment industry.
